'Green Hosting' means electricity from renewable sources, using a local supplier (where possible), and maximising the use of resources, in order to minimise the impact on the environment caused by the hosting of a site.

Our recommended hosting uses:

• wind, solar, and low-impact hydro power, in accordance with the Renewable Energy Certification System (RECS)
• additional offices supplied with renewable energy
• highly efficient power supplies with less than 20% heat loss
• cooling systems using outside air during cooler parts of the year
