What is referencing or SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)?

Search Engine Optimisation is the process of ensuring that a web site appears high-up in the list of results when a search is made on Google, Yahoo!, or other search engines, if it is relevant to the product or service being offered on the website.

All our websites are designed from the outset with search engine optimisation in mind and we conduct basic referencing of all the sites we produce. Often this will be sufficient to get your site listed high up in the search engines. We are experts in search engine optimisation and offer specialised search engine optimisation services when needed.

Can I expect to get to the top of the list on Google?

The answer to this question depends, amongst other things, on your competition, the market conditions, the type of product(s) or service(s) you are selling/describing, your location, and the real interest in your product.

No-one is in a position to guarantee you anything with regards to your specific position in the search engines, and you should be suspicious of anyone claiming the opposite. But if the question was "Is it possible to get to the top?" the answer would definitely be "Yes".

Targeted advertising

In parallel to search engine optimisation is targeted advertising, Google and the other search engines provide the possibility to supplement an optimisation process with targeted advertising links on their search results pages. We have extensive experience of the tools available at Google, and the other search engine sites, and we know how to leverage maximum performance and value as part of your targeted advertising campaign.

Dishonest practices

A number of techniques are available to 'cheat' the search engines into thinking that the content is even more relevant than in reality. These techniques are dishonest and are forbidden by Google, and we refuse to employ them. So far, this has not prevented us from achieving astounding success with our search engine optimisation.

Note that many companies claim to offer 'Referencing' as a free bonus included in their website creation services and sometimes give the impression that this will get you to the top of the search engine results. The services being offered are generally very basic, and in our view form a part of any professional website creation service, not a 'free bonus'.
